Forklift Field Service Engineers

Location : Gloucestershire
Salary : £24k — £34k (depending on experience)

GB Forklifts Ltd are looking for Mobile Service Forklift Engineers to join our team.

The successful candidates will be required to travel around Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties to various industrial sites and warehouses to carry out routine maintenance and servicing, emergency breakdown, general fault-finding and on-site repairs to our hire fleet and customers' machines.

The right candidates must have the following abilities :

Essential

  • Experience working on forklifts or other material handling equipment
  • Fault finding and diagnosis on forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Work on your own initiative
  • Team work is essential
  • Skilled in working with electric, diesel or gas forklifts
  • Full clean driving license
  • Ideally

Ability to carry out Thorough Examination would be beneficial but not necessary.

Service Manager

Location : Gloucestershire
Salary : £28k — £33k (depending on experience)

GB Forklifts Ltd. is recruiting a Service Manager.  We are an established family company operating in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties whose success has been built on strong client and business partner relationships.

Purpose

The Service Manager’s role is paramount to the successful delivery of high quality service.  Our Service Manager retains full responsibility for the continued success of customer service which we believe is critical to developing and maintaining long lasting business relationships.

Role and Responsibilities

  • To grow and manage a team of engineers carrying out on & off site servicing, repairs and thorough examinations of forklifts and other material handling equipment, including our own hire fleet.
  • Daily resource planning.
  • Organise the ordering and processing of all parts and service packs.
  • Provide support to clients and maintain client relationships.
  • Investigate invoice and support queries and implement systems in order to reduce such queries.
  • Managing risk assessments of method statements provided by Health and Safety consultants.
  • To ensure job and time sheets are processed in a proper manner, both paper & electronic using Key Service Manager Software.
  • Responsible for the workshop maintenance, refurb practices and tidiness.
  • Prompt production and turnaround of any technical queries.
  • Working with IT department to help market service and parts and implement efficient working processes.
  • Experience and qualifications.
  • Experience in the forklift industry.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Able to demonstrate proven leadership skills, best practices and processes.
  • Communication and leadership skills, both verbal and written.
  • IT literate, Key Service Manager Software training will be given.
  • Good people management skills - ensuring others adhere to procedures.
  • Previous experience in same or similar industry/environment.
  • Preferably at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience on forklifts and manual lifting equipment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in the forklift industry.

  • Communication and leadership skills, both verbal and written.
